Spring is here! Depending on where you are, it probably feels more like summer! Instead of blogging about the newest clothing trends, I thought it would be cool to share with you something different. If you are the kind of person that wants to look fresh from head to toe, you know having that perfect nail colour is the icing on the cake! This week I am going to share with you the do’s and don’ts when it comes to picking the perfect colour!
Bright bold colours are in, but neon’s bring back the 80’s. Leave those colours to Madonna, and try to pick something more subtle that would match more with your entire wardrobe as oppose to that one look. “China Glaze” has some cute colours that will compliment this look.
Nude colours look more professional, but too dark or bright of a colour can take away from the look.
DON’T: Crackle is so last year and looks sloppy. The half crackle look, not so bad – but messy.
DON’T – but you’ll probably do anyway.
Glitter tends to stand out too much and gets really messy if you’re painting them yourself. If you have your nails professionally done, they have a better chance of looking more like the picture below. Elle Canada has labeled this a new trend, but pick the wrong combination and you may just pull a Ke$ha.
DON’T – try this yourself.
Designs are cute but can get messy. If you do want to give designing your own a try, take a look at this tutorial on how to get that nail salon design at home. It’s less tacky, and way more innovative.
Cute Designs: They may not be in style, but these looks are a must see!
